Elysium: The Inner Sanctum

Everything protected by Vernas' magic is considered to be within Elysium. The capitol city rests within the province of Elysium, nestled comfortably into a lake like a jewel as Asphodel surrounds it from all sides. It feel like paradise against the otherwise harsh landscapes of the underworld.

Landmarks

Crystal Towers
The towers were spun from crystal by Vernas' own magic and the capital city slowly grew around it, sequestered away within it's walls. It is beautiful but strangely cold and uninviting.

Tower District
Located on the other side of the canals, the towers are strictly guarded ever since the Affliction befell the civilians. Surrounding the towers are the official's quarters- this includes professions such as guards, magicians, herbalists, and clerics.

Canal Plaza
In the center of the canals is an enormous plaza, where civilians gather for events and announcements.

The Gardens
Located by the canals leading up to the towers, the gardens are a beautiful getaway where many go to ease their worries. The flower have mystical properties which can soothe and heal the very soul of those who wander there.

Residential District
This is where the capitol city's inhabitants reside, wherein the people are known for their hospitality. Many civilians offered to house sick or injured outsiders when the Affliction came.

Trading District
Located south near the entrance of the town, Elysium has a humble market wherein civilians can find everything they need. It is well-known for high quality crafting and culinary arts, but rarely deals with imports and exports.

Ivory Ruins
The ruins on the outskirts of of the city have been around for as long as anyone can remember. Golems can be found wandering them peacefully.

Asphodel: The Unknown Fields

At the boundaries of the protective zone, nature runs abound and unrestrained, asserting its ancient dominion. It is mostly meadows and fields, however contains many forests as well as a beach to the south.

Landmarks

Elder Tree
The elder tree has existed in the territory for longer than Velkacis has been established as a region, and it is believed to be the source of life in the surrounding Asphodel meadows. The woodland area is populated mostly by Mori who think of the tree as a god and tend to its health persistently.

Tartarus: The Surrounding Decay

Many civilians of Elysium have never been beyond the Asphodel meadows, but all of them are faced with its presence in the distance. Craggy mountains, dark swamps, and frozen canyons are some of the surrounding terrascapes considered definitive of the Underworld. Many of the creatures in Tartarus were already considered dangerous, but the Affliction means leaving is an impossible feat for even the most skilled of travelers.

Landmarks

Twin Spires
Beyond an immense poisonous bog, Nyx's lair was repurposed from an abandoned watch tower found in the mountains in Tartarus which overlook Velkacis, the interior is complete with checkered marble tiles.
