Mori Spirits

Mori are a type of spirit native to Asphodel, they resemble foxes with wispy tails but their faces are hidden behind secretive masks. They are elusive in nature and prefer to keep to themselves, but can be extremely playful creatures. They have an affinity for all that belongs to the forest and are among the most inquisitive creatures in all of Velkacis.

Believe it or not, Mori do have a face underneath their masks! Due to their shy nature however, they are rarely seen without one. A Mori is not restricted to leaves, but do tend to prefer natural materials over artificial. While most Mori resort to using leaves of their origin to hide their visages, others will go on to join or create factions where they can receive better materials for crafting. Masks created for this purpose can be used to designate their rank and alliance.

The Mori do not naturally have hierarchy and most wilds do not acknowledge rank amongst alliances as they have not conformed to the capitols standards. For example, although clay is generally used by followers of Komo, some unaware Mori may mimic these masks resulting in anothers confusion. In the wild, types of wood and leaves have their own symbolism and might give an idea of what one does for a living, but nothing is ever certain with this curious race.

Faerie Sphinxes

Often referred to simply as "sphinxes," these cat-like creatures have a impish demeanor. Often considered tricksters of the underworld, they are as charming as they are boisterous. They have an affinity for gold, gems, jewelry, and other treasures.

Fae Folk

Diminutive human-like sprites which are more active during bright, airy days. They are good-natured creatures, although rather feisty, and their favourite activities include crafting, singing, and merry engagements.

Vampires

A nocturnal humanoid which feeds on the blood of other living things, although some have more control over their thirst than others. They form unique societies that allow them to operate right under humanity's nose undetected.

Werewolves

Another nocturnal humanoid race, however rather than feeding on the blood of others, they shift into a beast form under circumstances that are not fully understood. Many of them are forced to live away from human society due to this unpredictability.

Crystal Golems

Reanimated from precious metals by the use of magic, these sturdy giants are clad in solid armor made from the minerals around them, however at their core lies a vulnerable heart.

Dryad Nymphs

The tree people are known for being benevolent and dependable, if you're lucky enough to meet one. They are reclusive nature spirits who blend into their surroundings effortlessly.

Kirin

These mythical beasts are known for taking the utmost pride in their grace and beauty as well as their valor in combat, although they would rather tend to their appearances than duel.

Naga

Combine the peaceful easygoing of the merfolk with the tenacity of a serpent and you have a naga! They are an cunning race which use their deceit and dexterity to turn any situation in their favour.

Underworld Wyrms

Traditionally dark in colour and whip-like in appearance, the nyx boast draconic horns and wings; their scales however are surprisingly thin and smooth to the touch. They can usually be seen perched atop rocky cliffs, leering down at others with stark eyes.

Seraphim

Like something of a cosmic anomaly, seraphim appear as a mishmash of shapes, not meant to be understood by mortal kind. They appear to writhe and pulsate, but the soft, pleasant whirring sounds they emit make those who come in contact with them feel strangely serene...
